When Does Disney World Take Down Christmas Decorations 2022

We are planning to visit in January of 2022 a.

  • On the 29th of June, 2021 Jessica from Nevada inquired: “Hello, Jessica! It appears like you are kicking off the new year in the most enjoyable manner I can think of: by taking a trip to see the mouse! WDW’s Christmas decorations are legendary: beautifully adorned trees, hundreds of thousands of poinsettias, and a flurry of festive wreaths and bows strung around the park. If you arrive in the Disney theme parks and resorts during the first few days of January, you will most likely still be able to find Christmas happiness. As far as I’ve been able to determine, garnishing begins after Halloween and the unofficial take down deadline is around January 3rd. This year, when my family arrived on January 5th, we were surprised to find the foyer of Bay Lake Tower at Disney’s Contemporary Resort still decorated for Christmas, much to our joy. The following morning, when we strolled through the Magic Kingdomgates, we were greeted with a festive Main Street, replete with Mickey wreaths on lampposts and a magnificent Christmas tree rising over the stores. However, because this is likely to be a one-time event, I would anticipate the seasonal takedown to occur practically shortly after New Year’s Day in 2022. Have a lovely time on your wonderful vacation! Elisabeth

Are you ready to pay a visit to Mickey? I’m here to lend a hand. I’ve been to Walt Disney World with my four children from the time they were in strollers to the time they were young adults. After sailing on every pirate ship in the world, eating many Mickey Premium Ice Cream Bars, and believing the Electric Water Pageant music is the most catchy on the earth, I’ve come to a conclusion: the Electric Water Pageant music is the best there is. I’m looking forward to assisting you with your Disney vacation planning.

When Does Disney World Take Down Christmas Decorations?

Walt Disney World is well-known for its annual nighttime Christmas decoration session, which takes place the night after Halloween. The Halloween decorations at Magic Kingdom are taken down in record time, and the Christmas decorations are put up in an equally impressive amount of time. How long does it take for the Christmas decorations in Orlando to be taken down? The response is constant, but it is not always as quick as it could be. Image courtesy of Disney At Magic Kingdom, the Imagineers put on their famed nightly decoration session, which is a sight to behold.

  1. The video below demonstrates the breakneck pace with which the park is being stripped and redecorated.
  2. The first Monday following the beginning of the new year is when the decorations will begin to be taken down gradually.
  3. Around the 3rd or 4th of January, Christmas tree centerpieces or external decoration accents can be added.
  4. Image courtesy of Disney Following that, you’ll begin to notice holiday wreaths and garlands being taken from various locations across Disney Parks, such as Main Street, U.S.A.
  5. The Dream Lights at Disney’s Cinderella Castle will be turned off and dismantled, as will other decorations.
  6. When that middle of January weekend arrives, the Disney Christmas decorations will be totally dismantled and put away in preparation for the next year’s holiday festivities.
  7. Attractions for New Year’s Eve and Day celebrations, such as music stages and other activities, will be set up.
  8. They know exactly when you book your stay at your favorite Disney Resort Hotel so that you may witness the magical transformations firsthand.

When Do They Pull Down The Christmas Decorations At Walt Disney World?

When was the last time you worried how long the Christmas decorations will be up at Walt Disney World? In terms of seasonal décor, Disney is lightning quick. For example, on the night of October 31st, many Cast Members work really hard overnight to ensure that guests are greeted with the enchantment of the holidays on November 1st at Magic Kingdom Park. Pumpkins and fall decorations are everywhere one day, then Christmas trees and red and white decorations are everywhere the next, but how long does this last?

In addition to Magic Kingdom, all of the theme parks feature festive decor and offers, so don’t miss out on the opportunity to see them all in one visit!

  1. Some of you may be thinking: “When is the ideal time to visit Disney World?” It’s understandable that you would be wondering.
  2. It is possible to enjoy a fantastic vacation to Walt Disney World no matter what the circumstances or crowd level are, and this has always been true regardless of crowd size or situation.
  3. However, there are other considerations to consider, such as the weather, special events, park hours, and, of course, your family’s availability, when determining the best time to take your magical vacation.
  4. When planning a trip to Walt Disney World, it’s important to purchase your tickets and make your Disney Park Pass reservations as soon as you know you’ll be going, especially if it will be during one of the high months noted below, such as summer, spring break, or Christmas.
  5. In our opinion, any time of year is an excellent time to visit Walt Disney World.

To learn more about our own tips for skipping the lines at theme parks, click here. If you follow our recommendations, you will discover that even during the busiest periods, crowds may be tolerable.

Determining the Best Time to Visit Disney World in 2022 and 2023

That the ideal time to visit Disney World has traditionally coincided with school schedules should come as no surprise; that is to say, the best time to visit is often when the children are in school. Generally speaking, when there is a school vacation, there will be more people in Disney World than usual. The decision to remove children from school, even virtual school, in order to go Disney is intensely personal, and we frogs have a no-judgement policy. It is recommended that you consult our Crowd Calendar while deciding on the ideal time to visit Disney World.

  1. When planning a trip to Orlando, it is vital to consider the hours of operation of the theme parks.
  2. In addition, popular performances, such as Disney Enchantment at Magic Kingdom, are not usually performed on a daily basis when the crowds are at their lowest.
  3. Particularly noteworthy events should be taken into account when determining the most appropriate time to visit Disney World, and these are also shown on the Crowd Calendar.
  4. You might find yourself wanting to schedule your visit during one or more of these dates!
  5. You can get a complete list of all of the events taking place at Disney World in 2022 and 2023 by clicking here.
  6. As seen by the openers of Avatar: Flight of Passage, Slinky Dog Dash, and Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance, this has been the case in recent years.
  7. Because the latter two attractions are located within the same park — Disney’s Hollywood Studios — it is even more critical to make your reservations as soon as you purchase your Disney World tickets!

So When Is the Best Time to Visit Disney World in 2022 and 2023?

  • Weekdays in January (excluding the weeks of Christmas and New Year’s Eve)

Because the children have just returned to school, September has traditionally been the busiest month of the year to visit Disney World in terms of crowds, according to history. Despite the fact that it is still our top recommendation for the best month to visit, October is becoming increasingly popular. This is most likely due to the popularity ofMickey’s Not-So Scary Halloween Party (2021),Halloween Horror Nightsat Universal Orlando Resort, and the EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival. Keep in mind that September is also the heaviest rainy season in Orlando, so plan accordingly.

  • Visits to Disney World during the days after Thanksgiving and leading up to the week of Christmas are also recommended, albeit not at the same levels as in previous years.
  • Some of the days in January and some of the days in February are also ideal for visiting.
  • The most significant disadvantage of going at this period is that park hours are restricted, and entertainment is frequently toned back.
  • Finally, this is the time of year when many rides undergo restoration.

Annual Disney World refurbishments such as Splash Mountain, Kali River Rapids, and Disney’s Blizzard Beach take place around this time of year; in 2022, Expedition Everest will be added to the list. The following are the very worst times to visit Disney World in 2022.

Be aware that October and November are peak rainy season months in Orlando, so plan your vacation around this time of year. Daily afternoon thunderstorms and probably even more rain are to be expected, so be prepared to be prepared. Visits to Disney World during the days after Thanksgiving and leading up to the week of Christmas are also recommended, albeit not at the levels of previous years. Because of the popularity of Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party and Disney Very Merriest After Hours, which are hosted on specific nights in November and December, as well as other considerations, those days are becoming increasingly crowded. Visiting during some of the months of January and February is also a good idea. When we visited Walt Disney World in January, the week following the Walt Disney World Marathon, it was the least busy week we had ever encountered. Visiting during this time period has several disadvantages, the most significant of which being fewer park hours and, in certain cases, less entertainment. There isn’t a lot of rain this year, but there are cold fronts that can make swimming a little cool (but still doable most of the time). In the end, numerous rides are remodeled over this time period of the year. Annual Disney World refurbishments take place around this time, with Splash Mountain, Kali River Rapids, and Disney’s Blizzard Beach being the most notable – Expedition Everest will be added to the list in 2022. *The date of Easter is the most unpredictable variable in the spring. It is possible to expect a shorter and more intense “spring break” season if the date is set earlier. This will result in greater crowds at Disney World. Later in the season, there is typically a longer but less intense season since school districts differ more in terms of when they let students out of the building. Easter will be celebrated on April 9, 2023, resulting in a somewhat shorter season than in 2022, when it will be celebrated on April 17.

Best and Worst Holidays to Visit Disney World in 2022 and 2023
