When Do Halloween Decorations Go Up At Disneyland

Disneyland Halloween 2022 Guide: Rides, Food, Decorations

With specially themed rides, delectable fall fare, and Disney Halloween-inspired park décor, Disneyland’s Halloween Time is one of the most enjoyable periods of the year at the theme park. Throughout the whole Disneyland Resort, including unique park decorations and overlayed attractions with Disneyland Halloween themes, the resort will be decked for Halloween beginning in early September and continuing until Halloween! Throughout the years, Disney California Adventure park has continued to enhance its offerings in order to deliver even more fantastic Disneyland Halloween experiences for guests.

Now, with the Oogie Boogie Bash Halloween celebration taking place in California Adventure, there are amazing offers in both Disneyland and Disney California Adventure parks!

It is my goal in this post to break down all of the Disneyland Halloween celebrations taking place across the Disneyland Resort and give advise on how to make the most of your experience when visiting the park during the Halloween season.

Disneyland Halloween 2022 Rides and Entertainment

During the Halloween andDisneyland Christmas seasons, the Haunted Mansion is transformed into the Haunted Mansion Holiday. This special holiday version includes the narrative of “The Nightmare Before Christmas,” as well as characters from the film, such as Jack Skellington, Zero the Ghost Dog, and Sally, as well as other surprises. The attraction is entertaining regardless of whether or not you are familiar with the narrative of “The Nightmare Before Christmas.” Simply put, the plot of the film is as follows: the king of Halloween takes over the celebration of Christmas, and we get to watch what occurs when “two festivals come together.” The one drawback of the overlay is that, while the Haunted Mansion Holiday runs from September to January, the old Haunted Mansion experience is only open for six months out of the year– something that some Disney fans have expressed dissatisfaction with.

When the Haunted Mansion Holiday comes to town, the lines swell and can last for several hours, so plan to visit this attraction first thing in the morning!

Haunted Mansion Holiday’s 20th Anniversary

The Haunted Mansion Holiday is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year! Annual traditions of the Haunted Mansion Holiday include the changing gingerbread home from year to year, which is one of the most popular. As part of the 20th anniversary celebrations, Disney will pay respect to all of its prior theme parks and attractions. “We went back to the graves to dig out all of our concepts from the last 19 years,” Tim Wollweber, assistant art director for Disney Parks, explained.

“This year’s Franken-house incorporates favorite features from the past 19 houses!” says the author. See how a piece from each of the houses is represented in this year’s gingerbread home in the photo above? Here’s the equivalent list of the homes from the past years, which you can find below:

  • In 2001, the Monster House was built, in 2002, the Present House was built, in 2003, the Giant Oogie Boogie House was built, in 2004 it was built, in 2005, the Giant Man-eating Wreath House was built. 2006 – House overrun with monsters
  • The Jack-in-the-Box House debuted in 2007, followed by the Giant Gingerbread Coffin House in 2008, the Scary-Go-Round House in 2009, and the Pop-Up Sandy Claws House in 2010. 2011 – Monster House a la mimetica
  • 2012 – The House of Jack Skellington
  • 2013 – The House of the 13 Days of Christmas
  • A Gingerbread Zombie House was built in 2014
  • A Gingerbread Card House was built in 2015
  • A Stitched-Up-Patchwork House was built in 2016
  • And an Oogie Boogie Bug-infested House was built in 2017. Giant Gingerbread Spider House to be built in 2018
  • The Haunted Mansion will celebrate 50 years of hauntings in 2019
  • The Gingerbread Franken-House will open in 2021.

To commemorate the occasion, special items will be available for purchase at Disneyland on September 27th, including a pin, water bottle, and t-shirt. There is no news on how long this goods will be available for purchase, so get your hands on it as soon as possible!

Space Mountain: Ghost Galaxy

On September 27th, Disneyland will unveil special anniversary products, which will include a pin, water bottle, and a t-shirt, among other things. This product will only be available for a limited time, so get your hands on it as soon as possible!

Halloween Rides and Entertainment at California Adventure

Each year, the amount of Halloween-themed entertainment and ride overlays available at Disney California Adventure Park grows more and more. In Cars Land, Mater’s Junkyard Jamboree will be renamed Mater’s Graveyard JamBOOree, and Luigi’s Rollickin’ Roadsters will be renamed Luigi’s Honkin’ Haul-O-Ween, and Mater’s Junkyard Jamboree will be renamed Mater’s Graveyard JamBOOree. Guardians of the Galaxy-Mission: Breakout! is renamed to Guardians of the Galaxy-Monsters After Dark and airs every day at 6 p.m.

  1. Although this is a scarier version of the attraction than the standard edition of the attraction, it does not include the popular song soundtrack that is featured in the regular version of the attraction.
  2. The attraction revolves on your automobile, which serves as bait to keep the monsters from eating Baby Groot, who have been inconveniently liberated from their cages.
  3. Every day, Miguel joins the storytellers from Plaza de la Familia and the Mariachi Divas for a Musical Celebration of Coco that takes place multiple times throughout the day.
  4. Make certain that you are using the Disneyland app to locate your favorite attractions.

Beginning every day at 6 p.m., Guardians of the Galaxy-Mission: Breakout! is renamed to Guardians of the Galaxy-Monsters After Dark!

The primary tale of Mission: Breakout ends here, while Monsters After Dark continues the story from there.

You may find out more by watching the video below: More entertainment alternatives can be found in the Paradise Gardens Park, such as Plaza de la Familia, which is a festival inspired by Da de los Muertos that includes live entertainment, craft making, food, and shopping, as well as a joyful experience commemorating the film “Coco.” Every day, Miguel joins the storytellers from Plaza de la Familia and the Mariachi Divas to perform a Musical Celebration of Coco many times a day.

Several popular characters, such as the Fab Five, will be dressed in their Halloween costumes and available for meet-and-greet opportunities. If you want to find your favorite attractions, make sure you use the Disneyland app.

Halloween Decorations at California Adventure

Everywhere you look, Cars Land is decked out for “Haul-O-Ween” with spectacular overlays and decorations. Photos from Cars Land’s Halloween celebration may be seen here. Radiator Springs will be transformed into Radiator Screams at every spot, from “Fillmore’s Jack-Oil Lanterns and Flo’s Spider-Car to Witchy Miss Lizzie’s Boutique,” according to the official website. As a result, I had to borrow a photograph because it was practically difficult to photograph well. (Photo courtesy of the Orange County Register’s Drew A.

With his gigantic figure beckoning travelers down the street and a swarm of bats swirling around the Carthay Circle Theater, Oogie Boogie has taken over Disney California Adventure.

Disneyland Halloween Snacks and Foods

During the Halloween season, the food options are altered in the same way as the decorations and ride overlays are transformed. When it comes to developing new sweet delicacies to be offered across the resort, the Disney culinary crew consistently outdoes itself. If you can imagine a bakery treat, chances are you’ll be able to purchase that treat in pumpkin flavor at Disneyland during Halloween Time. You can find these sweet treats in the following locations: Pooh’s Corner shop in Critter Country, Candy Palace on Main Street, Trolley Treats on Buena Vista Street in Disney California Adventure, and Marceline’s Confectionery in Downtown Disney.

The New Orleans Square Mickey Beignets are one of my favorite delights to indulge in at any time of the year.

As my younger sister puts it, “ben-YAY” will be the only word that comes to mind when you see these.

During your visit, make sure to check at the whole assortment of seasonal desserts to ensure that you don’t miss out on one of the new Halloween-themed delicacies. Make sure to check out our yearly updated guide to Halloween cuisine at Disneyland for more information on Halloween-themed delicacies.

Oogie Boogie Bash – A Disney Halloween Party

It replaced the previous Mickey Halloween Party and is held in California Adventure as a separate-ticket party event featuring Halloween entertainment, an interactive dance party, stage shows with Mickey, and walk-through experiences with Disney villains. Oogie Boogie Bash is a separate-ticket party event that takes place in California Adventure and includes Halloween entertainment, an interactive dance party, stage shows with Mickey, and walk-through experiences with Disney villains. Compared to the last Mickey’s Halloween Party experience, this one is even better!

The Oogie Boogie Bash will be held in Disneyland Park over the whole month of October.

Disneyland Halloween Happiest Haunts Tour

During Halloween Time at Disneyland, a special “Happiest Haunts Tour” is offered that focuses on the park’s specialized Halloween attractions as well as the stories behind select Halloween-themed items in the park. Last year’s trip revolved around a Halloween quest to locate Aladdin’s magical lamp, which had gone stolen. Following the conclusion of the hunt, the tour guide led guests on a tour of six attractions spread around the whole theme park. These Halloween tours have previously included front-of-line access to the two Halloween-themed attractions as well as some of the other top attractions throughout the park.

In addition, in past years, the trip featured two Halloween sweets as well as a special pin for participants.

Taking the trip is expensive; it costs $99 in addition to the cost of theme park entry. More information on the Disneyland Halloween Happiest Haunts Tour may be found on the official website of the theme park.

When Will Halloween Decorations Go Up at Disney World in 2022?

The following is a frequently requested question by visitors planning travels to Walt Disney World in the fall of 2022: “When will the Halloween decorations in Magic Kingdom be put up?” This site provides an explanation, including historical dates as well as an estimate of when Walt Disney World will be decked up for Halloween in 2022. (This page was last updated on January 12, 2022.) Remember that Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party was replaced by Disney After Hours Boo Bash, which was also a Halloween-themed event, in the previous year.

  • It is unclear whether the whole range of pumpkin decorations, as well as Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party, will be available in 2022.
  • To build spectacular pumpkin coach decorations for Cinderella’s Castle last year, Imagineering and the Holiday Services team combined an autumn theme with the story of Cinderella to create a unique aesthetic.
  • One of the many unknowns surrounding Halloween 2022 is the exact date of the event.
  • Main Street Pumpkin Festival, Town Square “Pumkin People” (or whatever they’re called), and Mickey Head Pumpkin Wreaths are all already in existence and can be found at the Holiday Services Warehouse behind Magic Kingdom, which is located in Disney’s Holiday Services Warehouse.
  • All of this indicates that the financial savings associated with not putting the Halloween decorations would be minor in comparison.
  • They may also increase visitor satisfaction, which is particularly important this year, when many are looking forward to Halloween and Christmas.
  • The Magic Kingdom has the longest “season” of the year, despite the fact that Walt Disney World doesn’t generally do anything to commemorate other than Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party and other seasonal events.

Thus, in a typical year, the first day of Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party is held in mid-August and continues until the end of November.

We’ve been to the premiere party for several years now, and it still feels a little weird.

The decorations for Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party are normally put up in mid-August to meet the earlier start dates for the party.

As strange as it would be if the decorations weren’t up for theHalloweenparty, this is an example of the tail wagging the dog.

The inaugural Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party took place only a few days before the decorations were put up at Magic Kingdom.

As a result of the absence of Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party to determine when decorations are put up this year, the issue arises when should these items be put up?

According to a very scientific research performed by HalloweenCostumes.com, 71 percent of American households decorate their homes around the first or second part of October.

August was not even an option in the vote.

Everything from a financial standpoint is different from one business to the next.

At the end of August, Starbucks will begin selling its pumpkin spice drinks on the Starbucks website.

When it comes to the other Disney theme parks throughout the world, practically all of them begin decorating towards the end of the first week in September, according to Disney.

Now we’re getting closer to settling on a time frame that makes more sense for Walt Disney World’s operations.

If my theory about decorations having an impact on merchandise sales is correct, it’s possible or likely that Magic Kingdom’s fall decor will go up on the same day that the Halloween Collection hits the shelves in the Emporium, which will be at the beginning of August in 2022, according to my calculations.

  1. The decorations were completed in time for the event, with the most of them completed by the second week of the month.
  2. The day on which the Halloween decorations will be put up will fall anywhere between August 8 and August 12, 2022, according to this estimate.
  3. Are you planning a trip to Walt Disney World?
  4. For information on places to dine at Walt Disney World, see our Walt Disney World Restaurant Reviews.

Our Walt Disney World Ride Guideswill assist you in deciding what to do and when to do it. It’s best to start with our Walt Disney World Trip Planning Guide, which contains everything you need to know about planning a trip to Walt Disney World.

YOUR THOUGHTS

When do you anticipate that the Magic Kingdom’s Halloween decorations will be put up? Do you believe the release date of September 8 is a credible estimate, or do you think it will happen when the item is made available in August? What are your thoughts on that date, which is still too early for Halloween? If you decorate your home for Halloween, do you think it will help you get into the spook season vibe and make you more willing to buy a memento or snack? (Be truthful!) What do you think: are you looking forward to a vacation from reality and some Halloween fun at Walt Disney World, or are you planning to skip the spook season this year?

Your input is both fascinating to us and useful to other readers, so please feel free to express your ideas in the comments section below!

Disneyland Halloween Rides

When it comes to the Halloween and Christmas seasons, one of Disneyland’s most popular attractions, the Haunted Mansion, has an entirely different concept than the rest of the year. The Haunted Mansion transforms into theHaunted Mansion Holiday, which is effectively a takeover of the park by the Nightmare Before Christmas film franchise. Jack Skellington, Sally, Zero the Ghost dog, Oogie Boogie and many more minor characters from the film are included in the attraction, which tells the whole tale of the characters from the film.

It is not required, however, that you be familiar with it!

The tale may be summarized as follows: Jack, the Halloween King, determines that he is going to take over Christmas, and the film refers to this as “when two holidays come together.” Consequently, you may anticipate seeing motifs from both holidays throughout the ride, but with a Halloween twist.

  1. So yet, there has been no announcement about Ghost Galaxy for the 2021 Halloween season.
  2. This overlay converts the space theme into one of a horror rollercoaster with ghosts infesting the track.
  3. This overlay is entertaining for adolescents and adults, but it may be a little frightening for smaller children.
  4. Some of the rides at California Adventure are also themed for Halloween this season!
  5. Even though the Halloween themes for these attractions in Cars Land are a little more subdued than the overlays in Disneyland, they are nonetheless entertaining to ride through on Halloween night.
  6. In addition, the rides (as well as the rest of Cars Land!) will be dressed out in Halloween-themed decorations.
  7. Guardians of the Galaxy-Monsters After Dark, which airs every night at 6 p.m., has been renamed.

As a result, the Halloween edition does not include a similar music to the regular version, but instead concentrates on the additional purpose of your automobile serving as bait to prevent the monsters from capturing and devouring Baby Groot.

Disneyland Halloween Characters

You can expect to see our favorite classic characters dressed up in their Halloween finest, including Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Donald Duck, Daisy Duck, and Pluto, who will all be decked up in their Halloween costumes. Guests may also look forward to additional unique meet and greets, such as Jack Skellington and Sally over by Haunted Mansion Holiday, which is generally the only time of year they can be found there! Villains are another popular Halloween character appearance at Disneyland, so keep an eye out for familiar faces like Maleficient, Captain Hook, Cruella de Ville, and others as you stroll around the parks.

Additionally, during the unique Disneyland Halloween party Oogie Boogie Bash, you may meet and greet with numerous uncommon characters from all kinds of obscure Disney films and even computer games like as Kingdom Hearts!

Disneyland Halloween Entertainment and Decor

The fireworks show at Disneyland Park is one of the most popular Halloween entertainment options in the park. Projection displays and special effects shows for Halloween Screams. Previously, in order to view this play at Disneyland, customers needed to purchase a Halloween party ticket. Since the Oogie Boogie Bash has taken the place of the Disneyland Halloween party, guests will no longer be need to purchase a party ticket in order to view this fireworks extravaganza. Fireworks are often only added on weekends, and throughout the week, the display is mostly reliant on projections to enhance the experience.

  • On the occasion of Da de los Muertos, a show honouring the film “Coco” will be presented.
  • It is customary for Miguel to join the storytellers of Plaza de la Familia and the Mariachi Divas for the Musical Celebration of Coco to take place numerous times a day.
  • During Halloween Time at Disneyland, a special “Happiest Haunts Tour” is offered that focuses on the park’s specialized Halloween attractions as well as the stories behind select Halloween-themed items in the park.
  • When it comes toDisneyland Halloween decorations, you may discover gigantic pumpkins just outside the entrance to Main Street, United States of America, as well as Fall décor scattered around the resort.
  • There’s also the popular Halloween Tree, which is devoted to Ray Bradbury and his novel of the same name, which can be found in Frontierland.
  • Despite the fact that Ray Bradbury’s writings on Disneyland are incredibly prolific, a statement from one of his works serves as the foreword to my book on Disneyland Secrets.
  • Radiator Springs will be transformed into Radiator Screams at every spot, from “Fillmore’s Jack-Oil Lanterns and Flo’s Spider-Car to Witchy Miss Lizzie’s Boutique,” according to the official website.

You may also get a large assortment of Halloween-themed sweets in Disneyland, California Adventure and Downtown Disney, among other places. Many of the specialty candy shops will go all out with candied apples, cake pops, and other Halloween treats to commemorate Disneyland’s Halloween celebration.

Disneyland Halloween Time Basics

When: This year, Halloween Time at Disneyland will continue over a longer period of time than ever before, from September 3 to October 31, 2021. Unlike in previous years, when the holiday didn’t officially begin until the middle of September, it now officially begins around Labor Day. In other words, you still have a few more days to enjoy the season this year! Keep in mind that certain of the Dia de los Muertos products that are part of Halloween Time will be available until November 2, 2021, which is an extra two weeks.

The majority of the decorations, cuisine, and entertainment are concentrated on the two theme parks, although Downtown Disney and the three hotels of the Disneyland Resort sometimes have their own particular accents.

Halloween Time in Disneyland Park

For many years, Disneyland Park has served as the site of the majority of the Halloween Time activities. When guests arrive on Main Street USA, they are greeted by an iconic Mickey jack-o-lantern. Costumed characters and villains meet and greet fans from the railway station platform, which overlooks the area. Decorated with orange and pumpkins, the atmosphere is established everywhere. The Walt and Mickey partners statue, which is located further along Main Street, is surrounded by jack-o-lanterns.

In the Disneyland park itself, there are a few changes in store for 2021.

The specifically ticketed Mickey’s Halloween Party is also no longer available, since it has been re-themed and relocated to Disney California Adventure as Oogie Boogie Bash in 2019.

(more on that below). But have no worry, for the Halloween offers in Disneyland Park that are still available are many!

Haunted Mansion Holiday

Since 2001, Disneyland has presented a unique seasonal overlay to the Haunted Mansion at New Orleans Square in Disneyland park, which is located within the park. The house is overtaken by Jack Skellington and his companions from Tim Burton’s “The Nightmare Before Christmas,” who decorate it with their unique blend of Halloween and Christmas decorations combined with other elements. The theming makes it ideal for a run that lasts from September to the New Year, giving guests to Disneyland plenty of time to plan a trip to visit.

Both of my children have rode it several times throughout their toddler and preschool years, and neither has expressed any concern or fear (except for the opening scene in the elevator that may be scary just due to its loudness).

Every year, a new gingerbread house is shown in the banquet room, and the house in 2021 is larger than ever in commemoration of the 20th anniversary of Haunted Mansion Holiday.

When Disney Genie+ opens at Disneyland in the autumn (exact date to be determined), the attraction will have Lightning Lane, which will serve to alleviate some of the wait times for those who pay the additional fee.

Dia de los Muertos in Frontierland

Ever since 2001, Disneyland has presented a unique seasonal overlay to the Haunted Mansion in New Orleans Square at Disneyland park, which is open just during the holidays. During the filming of Tim Burton’s “The Nightmare Before Christmas,” Jack Skellington and his buddies take over the house and decorate it with a unique blend of Halloween and Christmas decorations combined. Visitors to Disneyland will have plenty of time to plan a visit because of the theming, which will be open from September until the New Year’s holiday season.

Through their toddler and preschool years, both of my children have ridden it several times, and neither has expressed any fear (except for the opening scene in the elevator that may be scary just due to its loudness).

A new gingerbread home is always shown in the banquet room each year, and the house in 2021 is larger than ever to commemorate the 20th anniversary of Haunted Mansion Holiday.

Guests who pay the additional fee for Disney Genie+ will be able to take advantage of Lightning Lane when the attraction opens at Disneyland in the autumn (exact date to be determined).

This fresh new cut-the-line replacement to FASTPASS and MaxPass is included in my guide to Disney Genie+ at Disneyland Park.

Halloween Screams Fireworks

Photograph courtesy of Joshua Sudock/Disneyland Resort. Halloween Screams is a nocturnal performance hosted by Jack Skellington that was formerly only broadcast at the special ticketed Mickey’s Halloween Party. It is now aired year-round. With the Halloween Screams event now taking place nightly at Disneyland for the second year in a row and accessible to everyone with a standard park ticket, the party has moved to DCA for the second year in a row. Fireworks are included in the display on select nights, notably Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays throughout the fall season.

Even if the fireworks aren’t going off, the spectacle is still worth seeing for the music and projections that accompany it.

While the fireworks display takes place above Sleeping Beauty Castle, the performance may be seen from a variety of vantage points.

These alternative venues frequently have less people and don’t need you to camp out as long before the performance starts as the primary ones do.

Halloween Time in Disney California Adventure

For many years, Disneyland Park was the only spot where you could get the most out of Halloween festivities. However, the scope of the holiday’s commemoration has significantly increased. The décor and entertainment options at Disney California Adventure are now on level with (and perhaps even better than) those at Disneyland Park. Decor such as Oogie Boogie gracing the entrance to DCA and the Headless Horsemen standing outside Carthay Circle should be on your list to see this year. It will return in 2021 (after its premiere in 2019) as the event formerly known as Mickey’s Halloween Party – now renamed “Oogie Boogie Bash – A Disney Halloween Party” – which has been relocated to Disney California Adventure.

Haul-O-Ween in Cars Land

Picture by Diana Henneman / Modern Heirloom PhotographyOne of the most immersive makeovers at DCA can be seen in Cars Land, which is located on the second floor of the park. During the months of September and October, Cars Land undergoes a big makeover in preparation for “Haul-O-Ween,” and Radiator Springs is renamed Radiator Screams. Lightning McQueen is dressed as a super hero, while Mater is dressed as a vampire in this Cars 2 special edition. They stand in front of the Cozy Cone Motel, posing for photos with visitors.

Luigi’s Rollickin’ Roadsters transforms into Luigi’s Honkin’ Haul-O-Ween with creepy Italian-inspired music, which is played throughout the game. A similar transformation occurs when Mater’s Junkyard Jamboree becomes Mater’s Graveyard JamBOOree, as riders spin around a graveyard to spooky melodies.

Cruz and Red will also be participating in “trunk or treating.” Two Halloween ride overlays will be available at Cars Land this year, and both will be returning.

Plaza de la Familia

Paradise Gardens in DCA will host the ceremonies of Dia de los Muertos for the second year in a row this year. The location has been renamed Plaza de la Familia (Family Plaza). There are lots of details inspired by the Pixar smash film Coco to brighten up the Christmas season, including crafts, picture opportunities, and seasonal decor. Making their own paper alebrije (spirit guide) mask with Pepita or Dante from Coco will be a particular highlight for the younger set. Also available is the opportunity for families to contribute letters of remembering on a memory wall in front of the Mexican Tree of Life.

Miguel, a life-size puppet inspired by Mexican folk art, joins a group of singers and real dancers in this performance of traditional Mexican music and dance.

There is lots of open-air covered sitting with plenty of natural light.

Oogie Boogie Bash – A Disney Halloween Party

Last, but certainly not least, is the Oogie Boogie Bash, which is returning for its second year in the DCA this summer! On select nights in September and October each year, Disneyland has hosted an unique and separately ticketed event known as Mickey’s Halloween Party, which has always been a popular attraction at Halloween Time. A new name (Oogie Boogie Bash) was given to the event, as well as a new venue and an abundance of fresh offers. Related: See my comprehensive guide to Oogie Boogie Bash at Disneyland, which includes several recommendations and considerably more detail.

  1. The events all begin at 6 p.m.
  2. Three hours before to the commencement of the celebration, park attendees are granted admission to California Adventure Park.
  3. On evenings when the party is being held, DCA park closes to all other visitors at 6 p.m.
  4. Make the necessary preparations!
  5. There are a number of activities and entertainment options that are only available during the festival.

The costumes have been family-friendly whenever possible; one year we dressed up as characters from Alice in Wonderland, with my daughter as Alice and me dressed up as the Cheshire Cat, my husband as the King of Hearts, and my son dressed up (somewhat reluctantly) as Tweedle Dee and the King of Hearts.

So, what exactly is the Oogie Boogie Bash all about? The following are some of the notable entertainment options available during the party:

  • Mickey’s Trick and Treat Show: The new Mickey’s Trick and Treat Show is the greatest entertainment option for families with smaller children. The concert, which takes place in the familiar surroundings of the Disney Junior Dance Party theater, features lots of the Fab 5 and even a couple of confectionery delights.
  • The Frightfully Fun Parade, led by The Headless Horseman, has migrated from Disneyland Park to Disney California Adventure Park for Oogie Boogie Bash. At the Oogie Boogie Bash, you’ll get the opportunity to meet and greet with a variety of distinctive Disney characters, both good and bad. Mickey, Minnie, Chip and Dale, and other well-known characters make cameos, but you can also get your hands on some more unusual character photographs. In 2019, characters like as Baloo and Don Karnage from Talespin made appearances, while Disneyland has already revealed three new villains for the park’s 2021 season. Villains Grove: Located along the Redwood Creek Challenge Trail, this section has a number of dream-like scenarios inspired by villains, each with its own set of lights and effects.
  • Immersive Treat Trails: The immersive treat trails at Oogie Boogie Bash are unquestionably the highlight of the event for children. It is impossible to beat the mix of candy with live-action villains such as the Mad Hatter, Oogie Boogie, or Maleficent.

It should be noted that the Halloween celebration always sells out, and fact, as of late August 2021, it had already sold out. If you are already thinking about the year 2022, make sure to start planning as soon as possible because tickets appear to be going on sale even earlier each year. (If you’re making plans for next year, keep in mind that Halloween night and the last scheduled least costly party days were among the first to sell out!)

Halloween Time FoodMerchandise

Halloween is a holiday that Disney restaurants and businesses never fail to acknowledge, and it is a time when the Disney team becomes particularly inventive. During Halloween Time, keep an eye out for a plethora of Halloween-themed sweets and souvenirs. In 2021, all of the Halloween Time food options are accessible all of the time — none appear to be confined to the Oogie Boogie Bash celebration. If you weren’t able to get a ticket to the party this year, Disney’s 2021 comprehensive Halloween Time gastronomy guide is a terrific resource for planning your meals and goodies for the holiday.

Every year, I find the seasonal food to be far too much for me to sample in a single trip, but Britni at Play Party Plan commits to trying an impressive number of food options on her Disney trips, so I trust her recommendations.

This year’s merchandise includes seasonal spirit shirts, numerous ear headbandds (including a Nightmare before Christmas Loungefly design), and much more.

It should be noted that Disneyland has welcomed my family on several of our travels to HalloweenTime and Mickey’s Halloween Party/Oooooga Boogie Bash. Disclosure: Disney was generous enough to offer me with complimentary entrance and lodging for my most recent vacation, which took place on September 3, 2021. My family and I go to Disneyland on a regular basis, and we do it at our own money (and will be paying our own way on our next trip in October 2021). All of my opinions are entirely my own.
