When Could We See Halloween Decorations in Disney World This Year?!
Before we know it, Halloween will be among us at Disney World. DisneyWe understand that it is just July, but Disney begins celebrating as soon as possible. It will be August 10th when the first night of BOO Bash (which will take the place of Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party this year) takes place. Due to the fact that Halloween is less than three weeks away and there is still no sign of a pumpkin, we’re wondering when we might start seeing Halloween decorations appear in Magic Kingdom. In years past, Halloween decorations were all up and running by the first Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party.
If last year’s trend continues, we should start seeing Halloween decorations as early as August!
This year, there is no such event.
It’s absolutely a viable option!
- As a result, Disney will attempt to strike a balance between decorations for the anniversary and those for Halloween.
- Walt Disney Imagineering collaborated with Walt Disney World Resort Holiday Services to create a BLEND of Halloween and the story of Cinderella at the Magic Kingdom, according to Disney.
- Cinderella and pumpkins seem to go together like peanut butter and jelly!
- It’s possible that the anniversary festivities could begin in August, but it’s also possible that they may begin in October or even later.
- The BOO Bash event in the Magic Kingdom will feature “unique decor, lighting, and music,” according to the Disney website, to set the mood for the After Hours event.
Mickey pumpkin wreaths will most likely be back in place around Magic Kingdom, but you never know with Disney, they might surprise us.Halloween at Magic KingdomIn addition to the decorations, there will be lots of other festive things coming for BOO Bash, such as themed food, characters in costume, spooky cavalcades, and trick or treating!
Remember that the After Hours event is shorter and more costly than Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, so plan accordingly.
Follow DFB for updates if we see even one festive wreath in the park, so keep an eye out for updates!

When Does Disney World Switch from Halloween to Christmas • WDW Vacation Tips
If you are planning a vacation to Disney World in early November, you may be wondering when the Disney Christmas decorations will be put up around the parks and resorts. The answer is: as soon as the decorations are put up around the parks and resorts. We know this because you have been asking us, “When can I see Christmas at Disney World?” We have received several responses to this question. This is something that varies from year to year and is mostly determined by the timing of the filming of the Christmas Day procession.
The Halloween decorations in the Magic Kingdom must remain up until the lastMickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party or, in the case of this year’s Boo Bash, until the end of the season.
When we get up the next morning after the last party, we find that almost all of the Halloween decorations have vanished.
Christmas Starting at the Magic Kingdom
This year, the first Christmas celebrations begin much earlier than usual! The first time the castle will be illuminated in the Magic Kingdom will be on Sunday, November 3rd, 2021. This castle illumination should also be accompanied by a large number of decorations, which I anticipate will be in place. The inaugural Christmas After Hours celebration will take place on November 8, 2021, and we anticipate that all of the Christmas decorations will be up in the Magic Kingdom by that time. Early November will see the shooting of Disney’s Christmas Day Parade, which will show on ABC, as well as other Disney Parks holiday specials to air on ABC and Disney Channel.
Although the actual dates for 2021 have not yet been published, we know that it will fall early in the month as it has in the past.
The Christmas season will officially begin on November 6th, 2021, according to the calendar. This signifies the beginning of the spread of decorations around the park. One of my favorite photographs from last year is seen above. Toy Story Land gets a seasonal makeover, with all of the characters getting into the holiday mood as well. Along with that, stunning antique Christmas décor is placed around the main entrance area of the park.
Holiday Celebration at the Animal Kingdom
Over in the Animal Kingdom, I am happy to see the park completely transformed into a Christmas wonderland for the first time. Let’s take a look at everything that takes place in the park by part of the park.
Discovery Island is hosting a quirky winter party for anyone to enjoy. During the day, check for life-size animal puppets that have been artisan-sculpted! Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer, Foxes, and Polar Bears are some of the puppets on display.
And at night, bright rooftop lights and bird lanterns illuminate the night sky with their radiance. TheTree of Life, at the heart of it all, comes to life each night with a new set of winter tales that are guaranteed to thrill.
Donald’s Dino-Bash is the perfect place to get into the Christmas mood with a festive atmosphere. In addition, take a photo with Donald and some of his closest companions, who will be dressed festively for the occasion.
Consider taking in the colorful flowers, lanterns, and other decorations in Anandapur, where people have decked out the theater area in honor of Diwali, India’s festival of lights, which takes place this week.
As soon as you arrive in the town of Harambe, you’ll be greeted with a bright display that combines the inspiration and style of Western customs with the colors and fabrics of true African festivals.
Pandora – The World of Avatar
It is the ex-pats who live and work on this magnificent moon that have brought a little Christmas cheer to their alien home! Pongu Pongu is a display of kitschy décor that blends old pieces from Earth with objects created from materials unique to Pandora. Pongu Pongu is located on the island of Pandora.
Epcot for the Holidays
Due to the fact that Epcot’s International Food and Wine Festival ended so late this year, the park is a touch behind on its celebrations. The Festival of the Holidays will take place from November 26 to December 30, 2021, and will last for three weeks. Additionally, on the 26th, you will be able to see the Candlelight Processional, which is one of my favorite Christmas shows.
Disney World Resort Christmas Decorations
- In the lobby of Disney’s Grand Floridian ResortSpa, you’ll discover a life-size gingerbread house decorated for the holidays. This elaborate 10 -foot-wide, 15-foot-long, and 14-foot-tall structure is covered with more than 10,000 pieces of gingerbread and is the perfect place to pick up holiday sweets and treats
- Disney’s Contemporary Resort is celebrating the tenth anniversary of its iconic gingerbread Cinderella Castle, which is covered with more than 10,000 pieces of gingerbread. It took more than 5,000 gingerbread shingles, 47 pounds of rolled fondant, 38 pounds of modeling chocolate, and many more materials to construct this 18-foot-tall exhibit. As a bonus, the Holiday Carousel gingerbread exhibit at Disney’s Beach Club Resort will be celebrating its 20th anniversary this year! The Disney’s Contemporary Resort is home to the highest Christmas tree in all of Walt Disney World, with 20 “Hidden Mickeys,” 5 Peter Pan-themed horses, and handcrafted gingerbread shingles. The Disney’s Contemporary Resort is also home to the biggest Christmas tree in all of Walt Disney World. Among the trees at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge is a 45-foot-tall tree decorated with real African décor and copies of traditional African masks. This tree is covered with 16,000 lights and more than 200 handcrafted ornaments.

While it would be lovely if the Christmas decorations could be kept up all year, Disney does take them down. The following January, this is usually the weekend after RunDisney’s Marathon Weekend. PHOTOS: Mickey Pumpkins Return and More Decor Arrives as Magic Kingdom Prepares for First Halloween Event This Week
Once again, it’s that time of year. Fall foliage, Mickey pumpkins, and eerie décor can be found around the Magic Kingdom. The moment has come for the annual Halloween celebration at Walt Disney World. Or, at the very least, it’s time to put the decorations up in August. While Summer temperatures may still be in full flow, the introduction of Halloween décor at the Magic Kingdom serves as the first indication of the approaching season’s arrival each and every year. The Mickey pumpkin wreaths affixed to the light poles along Main Street, U.S.A.
- When these decorations are put up, it marks the beginning of the Fall season in earnest.
- As we approach Town Square, we can see the Autumn-colored bunting that was just a few days previously put in place.
- Other adorable small carved pumpkins may be seen around the building, including on parapets and within windows.
- The Autumnal garland in the Emporium is a fresh addition to the already existing Autumnal buntings above.
- And, of course, there’s one more parting view on the rear of the entry tunnel that guests will see as they exit the building.
- These pumpkins are lighted at twilight, and they serve as a lovely send-off for the end of the day.

- Given the proximity of Halloween to Walt Disney World, it’s no surprise that this is a subject that has come up a lot this week from families who have set their sights on vacations to the park during the months of November and December.
- On November 1st, the Magic Kingdom will host Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, which will be the final Not-So-Scary Halloween Party.
- If you go on the 2nd of November, though, you will find a somewhat different tale.

- In early January, visitors to the parks can expect to see a nightly reduction in the number of Disney decorations, with the vast majority of them being gone by the first weekend in January.

The month of October marks the end of hurricane season in Florida, which means it is still possible to face occasional downpours and excessive humidity while on vacation.
What to Wear
A common question from guests is “What should I dress to Disney World?” This is one of the most commonly requested topics. Always check the weather forecast in the days before your travel. The temperature begins to cool down in October, making it one of the greatest months to visit due to the pleasant weather!
Even so, you should be prepared for extreme heat because you will occasionally experience extremely high temperatures combined with excessive humidity. Prepare for rain by bringing a lightweight poncho with you to the parks each day so that you are prepared for any unexpected rains.
What to Pack
Despite the fact that the average high temperatures are beginning to decline at this time of year, the temperatures can still be rather warm, especially if you are not accustomed to living in hot climes. Despite the fact that it is technically Fall, you should still bring the necessary for hot weather. Always remember to carry along the essentials for hot weather, such as sunscreen, portable fans, cooling towels, and other products that will help you stay cool on hot days. The cost of one of these items at the parks or at your hotel will be prohibitively expensive if you find yourself in need of one while you’re there.
If you intend on visiting the Magic Kingdom’s Halloween celebration, both adults and children are welcome to dress up in costumes!
Purchasing one on the spot at one of the parks or adjacent businesses might be both time-consuming and costly.

The following are some things to expect if you want to visit Disney World during the month of October:
- Know the Halloween Party Dates-Being prepared for Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party midway through the month, after the party dates are announced, is vital once the festivities begin. When Do Halloween Decorations Go Up at Walt Disney World?
From the first part of August to the end of October, Walt Disney World is transformed into a Halloween wonderland. The start of the holiday season is traditionally marked by Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party. Tickets are required for this event, which features rare character meet-and-greets, spectacular Halloween entertainment, and some very awesome Halloween party sweets and munchies. All of these factors combine to make a vacation to Disney World in the fall well worth it.
Although things may be a little different for Disney Halloween celebrations in 2021, it will be for the better! There’s still a lot to look forward to in the future. Continue reading to learn about all that will be taking place in Disney World this Halloween.
Is Disney Doing Halloween Decorations This Year?
There has been a lot of conjecture regarding whether or not Disney would be putting up Halloween decorations this year at any point. This is due to the fact that the Walt Disney Company will begin the 50th Anniversary Celebrations of Disney World in October this year. It implies that they will have to strike a balance between Halloween decorations and decorations for the anniversary. The Halloween decorations at Disney World are something that many Floridians and out-of-state tourists look forward to.
That would be detrimental to the enjoyment of the guests.
This is, of course, totally theoretical and does not represent official information.
During the park’s EARidescence event to commemorate the park’s 50th anniversary, I expect to see a lot of pumpkin coach decorations.
What’s New for Halloween at Disney?
Previous years, Disney put up the first Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party decorations a few days before the inaugural Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party, which was normally held long before Labor Day. This meant that you could actually see the decorations up in early August, even though temperatures in Central Florida were still in the 90s at the time. Is Halloween the day following the first day of school? Disney, on the other hand, celebrates a little early. This year, Disney’s After Hours BOO Bash will take the place of Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party at Walt Disney World.
As a result, the Magic Kingdom Park has been decked out in Halloween decorations since early August.
Given the fact that we’re now in the second part of October, you can expect a spooktacular experience at any Disney theme park.
What to Expect at Magic Kingdom for Halloween?
Previous years, Disney put up the first Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party decorations a few days before the inaugural Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party, which was often held long before Labor Day. Since the decorations were up in early August, even though Central Florida was still experiencing 90-degree heat, it was possible to actually see them. Is it OK to celebrate Halloween the day after school begins. Disney, on the other hand, celebrates a little too early on Christmas Eve this year.
The BOO Bash will begin on August 10th and go until the end of September.
Consequently, the Magic Kingdom Park has had Halloween decorations up since early August. Beginning in September, the decorations and goodies will be made available at the other parks. Because it’s the second part of October, you can expect a Halloween-themed fun time at any Disney theme park.
Disney’s Halloween Decorations
Mickey pumpkin wreaths, fall garlands, pumpkins, jack o lanterns, additional cobwebs in the Haunted Mansion, and other Halloween decor will be on display at all of Disney’s theme parks and resorts to create the mood for the upcoming fall holidays.
Disney’s After Hours BOO Bash
On certain evenings from August 10 through October 31, the Magic Kingdom will host an unique ticketed Halloween event that will be open to the public. The park will close at 7 p.m., but guests may enjoy special activities and snacks from 9 to 12 p.m. The park will close at 9 p.m. There will be limited edition food, frightening character cavalcades, and exclusive items available during the Halloween Party.
Characters in Special Costumes
Halloween costumes are worn by a large number of Disney characters along the parade route in Magic Kingdom. For the fall season at Walt Disney World, the Dapper Dans are transformed into The Cadaver Dans, replete with creepy music and eerie lighting. There are also special pumpkin coach decorations to look forward to. A unique character cavalcade featuring Disney villains like as Maleficent, Jafar, Gaston, and even Jack Skellington may pass by on Main Street United States of America, Town Square, or the forecourt of Cinderella Castle if you’re lucky during Halloween season.
Dressing up in costumes and wearing masks is permitted at the Disney World theme parks for children under the age of 14.
Minnie’s Halloween Dine at Hollywood and Vine
The Hollywood and Vine restaurant in Disney’s Hollywood Studios will begin serving table-service family-style meals on August 10, 2021, with Minnie Mouse greeting guests as they arrive. Expect a lot of contact with the celebrity presenter, who will be dressed to the nines for Halloween. In addition, don’t forget about Vampire Mickey Mouse and Cowboy Goofy!
Special Disney Halloween Snacks
I enjoy visiting Walt Disney World in the fall for a variety of reasons, including the wonderful fall appearance of the festival and seasonal foods such as frightening cake pops, pumpkin spice cupcakes, and candy corn dole whip. Don’t forget to check out Disney’s special Halloween popcorn buckets as well. They may be found in the Epcot, Hollywood Studios, Animal Kingdom, and Magic Kingdom theme parks, as well as Disney Springs, among other locations.
Disney’s Halloween Merchandise
Aside from the fact that the parks are beautifully adorned, another reason I enjoy visiting Disney World during the months of October and November is the unique goods that is available for purchase. Keep your credit card close at hand for all of the Halloween-themed items you’ll be tempted to purchase. Additionally, if your aircraft has baggage restrictions, consider shopping at the Disney Store online.
If you are planning a trip to Disney World for Halloween or Thanksgiving, you are in for a treat! “Everyone is aware of what they must accomplish.” In preparation for the Christmas season, Disney World, which will celebrate its 50th anniversary the following year in 2021, has been preparing for a long time.
Every aspect, from the installation of Magic Kingdom’s 65-foot-tall “icon Christmas tree” to the placement of garlands and wreaths down Main Street, U.S.A., is meticulously attended to.
The following are further facts Lisa shared with Delish in an interview last year regarding the seasonal change at Walt Disney World: “The reality is that yes!
