When Does Disney World Decorate for Christmas?
When it comes to the holidays at Walt Disney World, there are three questions we receive more frequently than any other: “When will the Christmas decorations be put up in the parks and resorts?” “When will the Christmas decorations be put up in the parks and resorts?” and “When will the Christmas decorations be put up in the parks and resorts?” That is the question we will address in this piece.
In case you’re interested, the second most often asked question is: “How can I acquire tickets to witness the ABC Christmas Day Parade in person at Walt Disney World?” The answer is simple: (We’re sorry, but we have some terrible news for you on that front.) “When are Christmas decorations taken down?” is the final question in the top three.
For starters, the Christmas season typically begins on the first Friday in November–in this case, on November 4, 2022–and ends on the first Friday in December.
We are hoping that, unlike the previous two years, the Christmas decorations will not be reduced back for Christmas 2022.
- Last year’s alterations were prompted by Walt Disney World’s 50th Anniversary celebrations, which took precedence over both Halloween and Christmas festivities.
- One thing to keep in mind if you’re looking forward to seeing Christmas decorations at Walt Disney World is that they go up much sooner than you may anticipate.
- Literally overnight, just about the time that the fall decorations are being taken down.
- This is not the case, however.
- In the first place, it used to be correct.
- First and foremost, because Walt Disney World continues to produce time-lapse movies demonstrating the metamorphosis of Main Street USA from Halloween to Christmas.
- Finally, it is down to perspective on the part of the guest.
It’s an astounding sight to witness, and one that may lead you to believe that everything happens “at once.” However, not all of the details are complete at that moment, and the other parks are not completely decked up either.
However, despite the fact that the Walt Disney World Christmas season will not officially begin until early November in 2022, it is likely that decorations will be put up before then.
This is a reasonable assumption because many Christmas decorations will be put up at the same time that Halloween decorations are taken down.
Following Magic Kingdom, guests will be able to visit Animal Kingdom and Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
During the month of October, both parks have been known to put up more ‘ambiguous’ Christmas decorations than usual.
It is expected that the completed project will not be ready until closer to the formal start date of Christmas 2022, and that the lights will not be turned on until then.
It is possible that this may happen gradually, so certain things may not be available until the next week.
Epcot is the final theme park to participate in the holiday festivities, and this is due to the lucrative 2022 Epcot International Food and Wine Festival, which continues until the end of the month.
It is not expected that the front of the park would receive substantial decorations this year due to the amount of development taking place there.
The resort hotels are the genuine wildcards in this scenario.
We anticipate that this trend will continue, with nearly all big hotels (including Deluxe and Moderate Resorts) having their Christmas trees, gingerbread displays, and other holiday decorations up by the middle of November.
The majority of the time, Holiday Services can complete an entire resort in a single night, with crews dispatched to numerous resorts at the same time.
Even if Holiday Services decorated two hotels in a single night, the procedure would take more than two weeks to complete because to the enormous quantity of resorts in Walt Disney World.
It fluctuates from one year to the next.
By the next weekend, you should notice even more things being installed, and the procedure should be around half-complete.
If you come back a week later, you’ll see the same number of decorations at the parks, but half of the resorts will also be decked up in holiday cheer.
If you come around Thanksgiving week or any other time in December, everything at Walt Disney World will be decorated for the holidays!

When Does Disney World Take Down Christmas Decorations?
Walt Disney World is well-known for its annual nighttime Christmas decoration session, which takes place the night after Halloween. The Halloween decorations at Magic Kingdom are taken down in record time, and the Christmas decorations are put up in an equally impressive amount of time. When does Disneyland Decorate for Christmas?
When it comes to celebrating the most lovely time of the year, there’s no better place to go than Disneyland during the holiday season. I can’t express how beautiful Disneyland California is during the holiday season in adequate words. There are a plethora of reasons to come during this time of year, including expansive décor displays, seasonal refreshments, and some pretty fantastic ride improvements, among other things. You could be thinking that everything is OK at this point. We all know, though, that predicting the seasons at Disneyland may be a bit difficult at times.
If you’re planning a trip around Christmas Day, keep in mind that things will be a little more difficult.
If you come during the summer, you should plan on spending more time at the parks.
Learn all you need to know about the holidays at Disneyland, including when the park will be decorated for the holidays.
When does the Christmas season start and when does Disneyland decorate for Christmas?
The Christmas season at Disneyland officially begins at the beginning of November and lasts until the beginning of January. Some Christmas decorations, on the other hand, begin to be put up as early as October! If you want to see two seasons at the same time, you may be a little cheeky and go during the transition period between the two seasons. Though you’ll have to travel for a few days in order to do this (the precise changeover day changes from year to year), it’s definitely worth it if you want to have the best of both worlds in one trip.
Although you won’t be able to see every single decoration on the first day, the most of the Christmas decorations will be up shortly following Halloween.
A visit to Disneyland during the Christmas season is definitely worthwhile (particularly if you haven’t been to the parks at this time previously), since the atmosphere is quite different from the rest of the year at the parks. Just take my word for it; it’s truly fantastic.
What are the changes that occur when Disneyland decorates for Christmas?
So, you might be wondering what changes will take place at Disneyland over the Christmas season. Here’s what you can expect. So, hold on tight, because I’m about to fill you in on everything you need to know about Christmas at Disneyland!

It’s a Small World Holiday
Another fantastic attraction that is only available at Disneyland during the holiday season is It’s a Small World Holiday.Photo courtesy of DisneylandWhile the ride has clear parallels to the normal version, the overlay has a festive theme and various aromas for each nation to enjoy. The entire outside lighting system is also turned on for the holidays, in addition to the above. As a result, the queues can get quite long at night, but if you have the time, it’s well worth it to spend those extra minutes to see it.
An annual Christmas parade takes place in Disneyland, and it comprises famous characters dressed in festive clothes. The times for this might vary depending on the time of year, but they are generally between 3.30pm and 6pm on weekdays. Seeing the Christmas parades at Disneyland is a must-do while visiting the park during the holidays, so be sure to include it on your list of things to do at Disneyland during the holidays. Just keep in mind that these parades are incredibly popular, so you’ll want to arrive early in order to get a good location in the crowd.
If you enjoy fireworks, you won’t want to miss Disneyland’s Believe.in Holiday Magic! show, which runs until December. Fireworks. The show is projected onto Sleeping Beauty’s castle, as is the case with most of Disneyland’s fireworks, so there is plenty of space for everyone to see it. One thing to keep in mind is that this show has a history of being canceled. Although it is unfortunate, California’s windy weather may be unpredictable, and hence the show will not be performed if there is wind.
Despite the fact that you may plan ahead and wait for the fireworks to begin, it is not recommended.
The Candlelight Processional at Disneyland California has been taking place since 1958, and it continues to be an integral element of the festivities that take place when the park is decorated for Christmas. It is recommended that you visit the parks on the first weekend in December if you wish to see the Candlelight Processional.
It is extremely popular, but only two performances are held over the course of the two nights that it is held each year. Expect to hear lovely songs sung by a large choir, as well as plenty of holiday cheer.
Disney California Adventure
It makes sense to visit both Disney California Adventure and the main park during the Christmas season, as they both have festive decorations around the same time of year. The magnificent garlands and lights on Buena Vista Street will catch your eye right away, but the major attraction is the gigantic Christmas tree. However, the decorations in Disney California are less typical than those found in Disneyland, and they are really stunning nonetheless. Examples include decorations that resemble those found in Los Angeles gracing Hollywood Boulevard, and who can forget the Grizzly Peak, which has been imaginatively decked up with lights and decorations?
Cars Land Christmas
During the Christmas season, the Cars section is completely transformed into a holiday-themed environment. Luigi’s Joy to the Whirl and Mater’s Jingle Jamboree are two rides that you’ll notice are a little different from one another. To be honest, the names alone are probably enough for you to be interested in giving them a try. Photo:Allears.net Please excuse the pun.
World of Color – Season of Light
It’s the World of Color – Season of Light show at Disney California Adventure that you should see if you’re visiting during the Christmas season when Disneyland is decorated for the holidays. This show incorporates holiday songs with clips from classic Disney films to create an experience that you won’t soon forget. It’s a magnificent celebration of Disney’s greatest works, and the addition of the Christmas season further enhances the experience. If you want to make sure you have the finest view possible, you may be able to purchase a FASTPASS to guarantee yourself a seat in the reserved viewing area.
Festival of the Holidays
It’s the World of Color – Season of Light show at Disney California Adventure that you should see if you’re visiting during the Christmas season when Disneyland is decorated for the holidays. This show incorporates holiday music with clips from classic Disney films to create an unforgettable experience. With the addition of the Christmas theme, it becomes an even more stunning celebration of Disney’s best works. It’s possible to acquire a FASTPASS for this event, which will allow you to book a space in the designated viewing area.
Visit the Viva Navidad! Fiesta! area of Disney California Adventure to experience one of the greatest ways to celebrate Christmas at Disney California Adventure. Despite the fact that this is a completely different atmosphere from the rest of the Christmas entertainment available at Disney California Adventure, it is absolutely lovely. In celebration of the holiday season, you may enjoy Mexican street cuisine, do crafts, and meet some outrageously costumed characters.
Viva Navidad! The selection of dancers for this festival is one of the most fascinating aspects of the event. The whole show simply emanates happiness, and I really believe it is one of the things on the DCA entertainment schedule that you should take the time to see.
When is best to visit Disneyland after they decorate for Christmas?
This is a challenging question to answer because every Disney visitor is unique. The weeks leading up to Thanksgiving and the week before Christmas are always quite busy. There’s really no way around it, so if you plan on visiting during those weeks, be prepared to face long lines and throngs of people. The month of November and the first week of December, on the other hand, tend to be quieter, making them excellent times to visit for first-time visitors. This guide to Disneyland at Christmas should be of assistance.
Hopefully, you now have a good understanding of when Disneyland decorates for Christmas, what entertainment is on offer, and what ride adjustments are in store for the holiday season.

When Does Disney Decorate for Christmas?
Did you know that there are 25 Walt Disney World Cast Members that work on all of the 2021 Disney Christmas decorations that can be located on property throughout the year? With so much attention to detail put into each holiday display, it should come as no surprise that it takes practically the entire month of November to adorn the whole site for Christmas festivities. It is clear that the attention to detail is appreciated by people from all over the globe who travel to Orlando just to witness the Christmas lights at Walt Disney World in 2021.
At addition, it’s crucial to note that, while it takes the entire month of November to decorate the entire property, you may celebrate in the theme parks much sooner.
When do Christmas decorations go up at Disney World?
Officially the Christmas season at Walt Disney World begins on November 6th and extends through December 31st. This was confirmed once again in 2021 when Disney revealed that theDisney Very Merriest After Hoursevent will be held at the Magic Kingdom in the summer of that year.
However, as previously stated and further explained below, theDisney World Christmas lights do not appear in a single burst. The Walt Disney Company does prioritize some areas of the parks, most notably the Magic Kingdom Christmas decorations, which we shall discuss in further depth tomorrow!
When is Magic Kingdom Decorated for Christmas in 2021?
Let’s start with the Magic Kingdom, which is the most visited theme park in the entire globe. As many of you are aware, Disney will be hosting its popularHalloween festivities through November 1st this year. So, when does Magic Kingdom make the transition from Halloween to the holiday season? Unofficially, the dates of November 2nd-3rd have been set aside since Disney has a reputation for transforming the Magic Kingdom into a winter paradise in the blink of an eye. The official Disney Blog even has a fantastic time-lapse video that you can check out as well.
The Magic Kingdom Park’s holiday season officially begins on November 6th, according to the park’s website.
Despite the fact that this date may appear to be too soon for some, it is quite reasonable because traditionally, Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party begins on November 7th or 8th.
When Do Disney Christmas Lights Go Up On Cinderella’s Castle?
Now, I believe that this is an essential question to answer since the answer might have an influence on your vacation even if you do not intend to travel during the Christmas season. The reason for this is that Disney World has to send in a massive crane in order to finish decorating Cinderella’s castle for Christmas. Visitors who enjoy posing for the ideal photo in front of the castle may be adversely affected by this restriction. Fortunately, with today’s photo editing software, it is relatively simple to remove the crane.
Magic Kingdom Christmas Parade Taping?
Another issue we frequently get asked is when the Magic Kingdom’s ABC Christmas parade is recorded. We have no idea. And, yeah, it astonished me as well to learn that Disney does not really tape the Christmas Morning special on the actual holiday itself. Despite the fact that it appears to be a logistical nightmare, I have to concede that it makes perfect sense. (After all, who wants a nightmare just before Christmas? Sorry, I had to do it!) Unfortunately, the parade filming has gotten more and more impossible to forecast in recent years, as has been the case in previous years.
When Does Disney Start Decorating For Christmas at Animal Kingdom?
When it comes to Christmas decorations in Disney, the Animal Kingdom park is still another one of the most popular destinations.
Not only does this park have a large and dedicated fan following, but it is also the most recent Disney park to have a makeover for the Holiday season. The Animal Kingdom theme park, like Disney’s Magic Kingdom, opens for the holidays on November 6th, the same day as the Magic Kingdom.
When Does Walt Disney World Decorate for Christmas at Hollywood Studios in 2021?
During the Christmas season, Hollywood Studios showcases some of the most outstanding nightly activities, including the popularJingle Bell, Jingle BAM! holiday spectacular. On top of that, they offer some of the most immersive Christmas decorations across the whole Walt Disney World resort. The Christmas season begins at Hollywood Studios on November 6th, just like it did at the other two parks in the Disney World resort. It would be wonderful if you could visit to see these Christmas decorations if you had the opportunity.
This is a park that you do not want to miss out on over the holiday season!
When Does Disney Start Decorating for Christmas at EPCOT?
EPCOT is the final park to undergo the Disney World Christmas decorations overhaul scheduled for 2021. They make up for it, though, with their well-knownFestival of the Holidays and Candle Light Processional festivities. EPCOT formally begins celebrating the Christmas season in the last few days of November, with special events and parades. The primary reason for this is that Disney does not decorate until after the EPCOT Food and Wine Festival has concluded. It’s crucial to note that the Disney Christmas decorations at EPCOT will be different this year, which will be intriguing to see.
Keeping an eye on this park as the holiday season approaches will be a priority for us.
When do Disney Hotels Decorate for Christmas?
Following our completion of the four theme parks, when will the Disney Christmas lights at the resorts be turned on again? When it comes to putting up Christmas decorations at the Disney resort hotels, there is no established order, which is unfortunate. We can assume that all hotels acquire their decorations within the last two weeks of November. Make sure to visit in December if you intend on resort hopping in order to view all of theDisney World Christmas lights! And the reality is that if you enjoy Christmas, we highly recommend that you visit the hotels.
Which Walt Disney World Hotels Have the best Christmas Decorations in 2021?
Due to the fact that each and every Disney World hotel has a distinct concept, answering this question is quite difficult. While some of them become even more spectacular over the holidays, particularly when they are illuminated with Christmas lights, others just become even more amazing. The following are some of our favorite Walt Disney World hotels to stay at over the holidays:
- Every Disney World hotel has a different motif, which makes answering this question extremely difficult. When the holidays arrive, though, some of them just become even more spectacular, particularly when they are illuminated with Christmas lights. We’ve compiled a list of our top Walt Disney World hotels to stay at over the holiday season:
The video below is a fast one we put together to address the question, “When does Disney decorate for Christmas?”
When Does Disney Take Down Christmas Decorations 2021?
After all of this time, when will Disney take down its Christmas decorations in 2021? In many situations, the speed with which Disney’s Christmas decorations are put up matches the speed with which they are taken down. Decorations are normally taken down a few days after New Year’s Eve, with the exception of the lights on Cinderella’s castle, which remain up until the following day.
This normally lasts until the weekend following the Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend, which has been scheduled to return in the spring of 2022!
Disney World Christmas Decorations FAQ
The official transition from Halloween to Christmas takes place on November 6th, and the first Disney after hours event will normally take place one or two days later, according to Disney. Please keep in mind that this is the official opening date for the Magic Kingdom park, and the rest of Walt Disney World will begin decorating for Christmas in the coming weeks.

When do the Christmas decorations go up at Disney World?
The date when the Christmas decorations at Disney World will be put up may be of interest to individuals who are planning a visit to see the decorations. The good news is that it will happen sooner than you would expect.
Disney’s Magic Kingdom is the first to be decorated because of Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Celebration – and the entire process takes place during the time period between the final Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party and the first Christmas party in November (which is typically about a week later). As a matter of fact, it is such a remarkable metamorphosis that you can discover excellent time lapse films (such as the one below) that offer you a glimpse into the process: By the time of the first Christmas celebration (which will be held on November 8th, 2019), the park should be completely decked out, with the exception of perhaps the huge tree.
In part because of its sheer size, the tree might interfere with recording, therefore it is usually left down until they have captured all of the pictures they want for the presentation.
However, even if the enormous tree isn’t up when you arrive, you won’t notice it since the rest of the decorations will make up for it!
Most of the time, the decorations at Hollywood Studios are put up before the ones at Magic Kingdom. However, unlike Magic Kingdom, where the majority of the decorations are concentrated in a single location (Main Street, U.S.A.), Hollywood Studios boasts some of the most immersive decorations of any of the parks, with decorations scattered throughout the park’s many areas. Despite the fact that they do not have a specific holiday party like Magic Kingdom, they do offer a few of spectacular nightly shows during the holidays: Greetings from the Sunset Season Jingle Bells, Jingle BAM!
The other two parks (Animal Kingdom and Epcot) are usually finished with their decorations shortly after Magic Kingdom and Hollywood Studios are finished with theirs. The Christmas offerings at Animal Kingdom will feature some spectacular decorations across the park, and they will begin on November 8th in 2019. Also available in Epcot are holiday-themed attractions like as theFestival of Holidays and the Candlelight Processional. Those usually begin just around or, in some cases, shortly before Thanksgiving, as was the case in 2018.
The process of putting up the decorations at the resorts is a slow one that begins around the first week of November and continues through the days leading up to Thanksgiving. Not all resorts are decorated at the same time, and the order in which resorts are decorated varies from year to year depending on the season.
As a result, just though you seen XYZ resort decorated during the second week of November last year does not always imply that you will see the same thing this year.
In recent years, Disney Springs has seen a significant increase in holiday activity as well. Decorating there begins in early November, and the launch of their major holiday event, the Christmas Tree Trail, is scheduled to take place around the middle of November.
Want to see it all?
If you want to view all of the Christmas decorations at the Walt Disney World parks, resorts, and at Disney Springs, schedule your vacation for any time between Thanksgiving and the end of the month of December. If you go any earlier than that, you’ll most likely get to see all of the parks fully decorated, but you may miss out on some of the decorations at the resorts if you go much later. But don’t put off making a decision for too long. It is not long after New Year’s Day that the Christmas decorations at Disney World are taken down!

When Is The Best Time To Visit Disney World For Christmas?
The best time to visit for the holidays is from a few days after Thanksgiving to approximately a week before Christmas. Although the Disney World Christmas crowds are modest, everything related to the holiday season is open and functioning. In particular, the first week of December offers a wonderful combination of Christmas events, manageable crowds, and beautiful weather, making it our favorite time of year to visit Disney World. Is it impossible for you to travel between Thanksgiving and Christmas?
Where Can I Find Disney World Christmas Decorations?
The quick answer is that Disney World’s Christmas decorations may be found all over the place.
At Disney World resorts, theme parks, and Disney Springs, you’ll see Christmas trees, wreaths, flowers, and other decorations that are specifically suited to the season. Approximately 1500 Christmas trees were put up across the Disney World resort by Disney World cast members.
Magic Kingdom Christmas Decorations And Activities
The Magic Kingdom’s renowned holiday experiences are what most people think of when they think of Disney World over the holidays. Entering Main Street, United States of America and seeing a 60-foot (18-meter) Christmas tree covered with 60,000 lights and 1800 ornaments sets the tone for the beauty of a Disney World Christmas from the moment you step into Main Street. Wreaths, bows, and a variety of other festive Magic Kingdom Christmas decorations can be found inside each exhibit window and all down Main Street, United States of America.
Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmastime Parade
There’s excellent news for Magic Kingdom visitors who want to visit between December 22, 2021 and December 31, 2021. On these specific occasions, all guests will be able to enjoy the iconic Magic Kingdom Christmas parade, which is generally only available to those who have Disney Very Merriest After Hours tickets. Check the My Disney Experience app for the most up-to-date information on parade performances.
Disney Very Merriest After Hours
The new Disney Very Merriest After Hoursevent takes place at Magic Kingdom. Disney Very Merriest After Hours is an additional paid late-night event that has less people and shorter wait times at attractions. In addition to shorter wait times, Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmastime Parade, the first parade at Disney World since early 2020, will return this year. During Very Merriest After Hours, this procession winds its way across Magic Kingdom, showcasing famous Disney characters on holiday-themed floats.
This adorable Christmas fireworks extravaganza made its premiere in 2019, but it was put on hold in 2020.
Magic Kingdom Jingle Cruise
Jungle Cruise, a classic attraction, receives a festive makeover for the holidays, becoming Jingle Cruise instead. Holiday enhancements include a tropical-inspired Christmas “tree” in the queue as well as holiday-themed décor scattered throughout the ride. Even the Jingle Cruise jokes have been given a festive makeover, with a slew of holiday-themed puns and tales. In one instance, our skipper instructed us to wave not just to the wonderful folks, but also to that one nasty individual, as we were leaving the pier.
Hollywood Studios Christmas Decorations And Activities
Despite the fact that Magic Kingdom is the most popular Disney World Christmas park, I believe the prize should go to Disney’s Hollywood Studios instead than Magic Kingdom.
Hollywood Studios offers beautiful themed decorations in each location, as well as a wonderful walk-up holiday light projection display and a character lunch tailored to the holiday season.
Sunset Seasons Greetings
The Hollywood Studios are a collection of studios in Los Angeles, California, that are dedicated to the entertainment industry. A wonderful addition to the collection, Sunset Seasons Greetings helps to fill in some of the blanks left by the fan favorite Osborne Spectacle of Lights. The external Tower of Terror facade is transformed into a gorgeous winter wonderland at night, which is a pleasant surprise. It is possible to see Sunset Seasons greetings on a continuous loop with a 15-minute pause throughout the night, from twilight until park closing.
- For example, in a brief film broadcast on the billboard, the Swedish Chef creates a gingerbread home, and then the tower is transformed into a gigantic gingerbread house.
- The other three themes are Muppets, Frozen, and Mickey’s Christmas Carol.
- At the conclusion of each tower projection display, lasers slash through the sky, illuminating the “snow” that is falling on the street underneath the tower.
- An additional advantage of having Sunset Seasons Greetings played on a continuous loop is that the audiences come and go at their own pace.
Minnie’s Holiday Dine at Hollywood and Vine
Despite the fact that character dining will look very different in 2021, Minnie and her companions will still be dressed in their best Christmas attire for Minnie’s Holiday Dine at Hollywood and Vine. During Minnie’s Holiday Dine, Santa Goofy, Minnie, Mickey, Donald, and Daisy all move about the restaurant, spreading far holiday happiness to those who pass by them. Prepare your camera for distant shots of these adorable characters in their wonderfully suited outfits.
Santa Claus Motorcade
Santa Claus’s Motorcade, which will debut at Hollywood Studios in 2021, is a new attraction. Wiggle your toes in the direction of Santa as he cruises down Hollywood Boulevard in his bright red convertible, so he knows you’ve been nice this year. Motorcade schedules may be found on the My Disney Experience or Disney World apps.
Jingle Bell Jingle BAM!
Although it was stated that Jingle Bell Jingle BAM will return in 2021, the show had yet to begin as of mid-November. This Christmas fireworks spectacular at Hollywood Studios depicts the narrative of Lenny and Wayne, two prep and landing elves who are on a mission to track down Santa, who has gone missing during the holiday season.
There are some inconsistencies in how this presentation connects the tale to the projections, but generally, the show’s projections, music, and pyrotechnics are all rather impressive.
Hollywood Boulevard Christmas Decorations
The amazing decorations that surround Disney’s Hollywood Studios begin as soon as you step foot onto Hollywood Boulevard and continue throughout the park. Decorations such as garland and wreaths are strewn across the roadway, while sparkling stars adorn the lamp poles.
Echo Lake Christmas Decorations
My favorite decorations at Hollywood Studios are in the Echo Lake area. The nostalgic décor, as well as a Christmas playlist that includes songs from my personal collection, making it seem like home. The big Christmas tree is magnificent during the day, but it is even more impressive at night, when the dazzling lights illuminate the lake, which is filled with ornaments that float on the surface of the water.
Toy Story Land Christmas Decorations
Unfortunately, these wonderful Toy Story Land decorations were not in place by the middle of November in 2021. When I asked cast members if they expected the area to be adorned this year, they said they couldn’t say whether or not decorations would take place. I’m posting this part in the hopes that Toy Story Christmas decorations may materialize, but I’d want to caution you that they may not be available for the 2021 holiday season. Toy Story Land is decked out in festive decorations, many of which are very charming.
Each of the characters in Toy Story Land has a distinct seasonal flair to their outfits, as do their accessories.
Across the table from the Hamm sugar treat is a giant green army guy, who appears to be supporting the sugar cookie.
Woody’s lunchbox is adorned with a popcorn and cranberry garland, and even Rex is decked out in reindeer antlers atop Slinky Dog Dash.
Epcot Christmas Activities
Disney Springs and the other theme parks open their doors later for Christmas events than Epcot. In this year’s holiday season, Epcot will open its doors on November 26 and remain open through December 30, 2021.
Epcot Candlelight Processional – Returns November 26 through December 30, 2021!
After missing this lovely version of the Christmas tale in 2020, we are thrilled to learn that Epcot Candlelight Processional will be returning for the first time in 2021. The Christmas nativity tale is told by a celebrity narrator with the assistance of a large choir and a 50-piece orchestra in this production. At Walt Disney World, the Candlelight Processional at Epcot is one of the most beautiful and moving ways to commemorate the holiday season.
Epcot International Festival of the Holidays
During the Epcot International Festival of the Holidays, guests may learn about the holiday traditions of each country represented in Epcot World Showcase. In addition to costumed storytellers bringing Christmas tales to life, seasonal kitchens, as well as a cookie promenade, provide gastronomic reasons to enjoy the holidays at Epcot.

Christmas Character Flotillas
Discovery River comes alive with the sounds of festive music as Disney characters dressed in their finest holiday gear float down it. It’s no secret that Disney World’s Animal Kingdom flotillas are a popular way to meet the characters, and I’m confident that the Christmas version will be just as popular.
Holiday Tree of Life Awakenings
Disney World Christmastime transforms the iconic emblem of Animal Kingdom into a dazzling display of holiday illumination. During Disney World’s 50th Anniversary celebrations, these holiday-themed projections will alternate with the Animal Kingdom Beacons of Light projections in the park. During the holiday season, the Tree of Life Awakenings begin at dusk and continue intermittently until park closing. Check the Disney World app for the most up-to-date information on the exact start time. The Holiday Tree of Life Awakenings was a charming show that was far more successful than I had anticipated it to be.
During the Christmas season, keep an eye out for the Merry Menagerie on Discovery Island. For a festive, holiday experience, adorable, life-sized handcrafted animal puppets are brought to life and performed to the accompaniment of live music.
Where Are The Best Free Disney World Christmas Decorations?
Disneyland and Disney World theme parks are the only venues where visitors must pay a charge to view Christmas decorations. Touring the Disney World resorts and Disney Springs is a fantastic, cost-free opportunity to see the Christmas decorations at Walt Disney World.
Taking a different approach from the previous Disney Springs Christmas Tree Trail, the stroll will disperse twenty beautifully adorned Christmas trees across Disney Springs. Pick up a map at one of the participating places, search for all of the trees on the map, and present your map to get a reward.
Jock Lindsey’s Holiday Bar
This eccentric bar and restaurant in Disney Springs, which is usually known as Jock Lindsey’s Hangar Bar, has been given a festive makeover for the holidays. Decorations appear to be hung or resting on every conceivable surface, even the ceiling. Christmastime at the bar is made even more enjoyable by the use of riotous colors and extravagant décor.
Disney World Resorts
Normally, each Disney World resort has an extraordinary holiday makeover, but in 2021, the decorations at several famous Christmas resorts have been cut back. The lobby of Port Orleans Riverside was lavishly decorated, while other areas, such as Disney’s Beach Club, were far less so than in prior years.
Grand Floridian Resort Christmas Decorations
The Grand Floridian, on the other hand, is decked up in its customary holiday splendor. It is the most spectacular gingerbread home on Disney World Property, and it is located at the Grand Floridian. One of the most popular Christmas decorations at Walt Disney World is the massive 16-foot (5-meter) tall Grand Floridian gingerbread home, which stands at 5 meters tall. Once you walk inside the Grand Floridian, you can smell the incredible gingerbread mansion that has been created. The scent of gingerbread penetrates the air throughout the large foyer, which is spread across many levels.
One of the most distinctive aspects of the Grand Floridian’s gingerbread house is the treat store located within the magnificent and tasty structure.
Because of these two stunning displays, as well as the fact that the Grand Floridian is easily accessible via the monorail, Disney’s Grand Floridian is one of the greatest spots to see Disney World Christmas decorations.
Beach Club Resort Christmas Decorations

Yacht Club Resort Christmas Decorations
The nautical-themed Christmas decorations at Disney’s Yacht Club Resort add a unique touch to the traditional holiday decor. Christmas tree decorations in the shape of boats, tons of blue-hued lights, and classic ornaments in blues and gold give the lobby Christmas tree a distinct nautical feel that complements the Yacht Club concept. A Christmas village exhibit with model trains passing through the town can be found just off to the side of the lobby entrance. It is simple to go to the Yacht and Beach Club and look at the Christmas decorations.
Final Thoughts On Disney World Christmas Decorations, Tips, And Activities
Disney World during the Christmas season is a lovely time to enjoy a range of holiday-themed attractions and experiences. It is, however, difficult to accomplish everything within a single Disney World Christmas holiday since there are simply too many possibilities to choose from. Disney World’s Christmas decorations are breathtaking, with extravagant details that become even more impressive upon closer scrutiny. Each resort and theme park has its own unique Christmas decor, which we find to be quite appealing.
It is preferable to visit after Thanksgiving but before school Christmas vacations since it offers the finest combination of various activities as well as less people in general.
